Lee-Anne on a 'rocky mountain high' in the Royal Group.
|
The lead interpretive naturalist/guide, driver,
cook and clean-up crew for Fernie Nature Tours is Lee-Anne Walker.
It is a one-woman local business with a supportive behind-the-scenes
crew consisting of her husband and daughter. This way quality of experience
can be guaranteed!
Lee-Anne has been sharing the natural and human heritage
of the local area with visitors since 1983. Her stories are rich
with personal experiences, time spent sharing tea with old-timers,
interviews with local experts in their field, and active participation
in local conservation efforts.
Using her vast knowledge base, creative presentation
style and enthusiasm, Lee-Anne weaves together an experience you
will treasure as part of your memory to Fernie and the Rocky Mountains.
Whether storytelling, performing magic tricks, playing games, or
directing reflective energy, her style engages the participants
with a focus on fun. She has lead audiences from 1 to 91 and enjoys
interacting with people from around the world.
As a professional interpreter locally since 1983,
Lee-Anne is dedicated to the work of the conservation community
in the region and is a member of Interpretation Canada-BC Section,
Federation of BC Naturalists, Wildsight, Elk Valley Young Naturalist
Club and Fernie and District Historical Society. For visitor safety
and comfort she has extensive backcountry experience, strong outdoor
skills, is trained in wilderness first aid, has a Class 4 drivers
license and to top it off she bakes delicious brownies.
In an effort to support local conservation,
a portion of Fernie Nature Tours profit is donated to some of the
above named organizations.
